We close at 6:00 pm on Halloween, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Mon - Thu 11 am - 8 pm -Fri, Sat, Sun 11 am - 9 pm Closed on Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Notice: No one with symptoms of Covid-19 is permitted in the building. Both the Varsity and Turner Field are easily accessed from the MARTA train. HOURS OF OPERATION: Notice: The Varsity North Avenue located in Midtown Atlanta is open for business.

You would be much better off changing to a different hotel that is convenient to the MARTA rail line. You would be walking through an extremely high crime area, most likely by yourselves. Most of the after-game crowds will either leave directly from the stadium parking or will take the Braves shuttle bus back to the MARTA station, so you won't have any "safety in numbers" after the game. However there is no way that I would do what you are proposing to do - it's just not safe. It is a short walk away from the North Avenue MARTA station on the red and gold rail lines.

Note that I am also one who enjoys walking when I travel, and I also use public transit often (in fact I ride MARTA daily to and from my work). The Varsity is one of the largest drive-in restaurants in the world and a classic Atlanta landmark at 61 North Avenue NW. I might consider walking to the Varsity from there, but I definitely would not try to walk to or from Turner Field, especially at night. Atlanta is not a very pedestrian friendly city, and that motel is not really in a good location for getting around, either on foot or via public transit (MARTA).
